동심 (Childlike innocence)

타국에서 겪은 차별이라는 서늘한 경험은 역설적으로 가장 따뜻했던 기억을 소환한다.
국적과 인종을 망각한 채 어울려 놀던 구슬치기 시간은,
세상의 편견에 물들기 전 인간이 본래 선(善)에 가까운 존재였음을 상기시킨다.
작품 속 인물들이 입은 흰색 의상은 어떤 가치에도 규정되지 않은
순수한 가능성과 무구한 상태를 상징한다.
또한 이들이 공유하는 투명한 구슬은 망각되었던 인류 보편의 사랑과 순수함에 대한 시각적 은유이다.
본 작업은 자아의 회복을 넘어, 우리 안에 잠재된 선의 의지를 복원하려는 시도이다.

The chilling experience of discrimination in a foreign land paradoxically summons the warmest of memories. The time spent playing marbles, oblivious to nationality or race, reminds us that before being tainted by the world’s prejudices, human beings were inherently closer to goodness.
The white attire worn by the characters symbolizes a state of pure possibility and untainted innocence, undefined by any external values.
The transparent marbles they share serve as a visual metaphor for the forgotten love and purity once shared by all.
Beyond the recovery of the self, this work is an attempt to restore the latent will toward goodness within us.
