Eventually, the paper boat sinks,
and the figure who had been precariously resting upon it falls into the water.

The moment when there is nothing left to hold on to, and no direction can be seen, symbolizes the despair, loss, and helplessness we encounter in life.

Yet even in the moment when I thought I had sunk to my deepest point,
I was never truly alone.

The presence of God, who had always been with me even when unseen,
did not appear only after the suffering had passed.
He was already there, in the very midst of it.

The sunken paper boat and the submerged figure do not represent only collapse or failure.
Rather, they capture the moment when, in the place where everything I had relied upon has fallen away,
I finally come to recognize the One who had been beside me all along.

Even in the deepest place, He was with me in every moment.
