구슬치기 (Playing Marbles)

화면을 압도하는 거대한 구슬들은 과거의 소중한 기억이 응축된 결과물이다.
사실적으로 묘사된 구슬의 투명한 물성은
타자의 시선이나 세상의 편견에 오염되지 않았음을 투영한다.
구슬 속에 휘도는 국기들의 색채는
국가라는 외적인 정의를 넘어 국적이나 인종 같은 인위적인 이름표를 떼고,
우리가 회복해야 할 본질적인 순수함과 선(善)에 대한 사유를 촉구한다.
이는 인위적인 구분을 떠나 인간 존재의 깊은 곳에 자리한 보편적 진리를 깨우치려는 시도이다.
이와 대비되는 흰색 선들은 정해진 틀 없이 그려진 낙서(Graffiti)로,
어떠한 사회적 규격이나 규정에도 얽매이지 않았던 근원적인 순수함을 시각화한다.

The giant marbles dominating the canvas are the result of condensed,
cherished memories from the past.
The transparent materiality of the marbles, realistically depicted,
projects a state of being untainted by the gaze of others or the prejudices of the world.
The colors of national flags swirling within the marbles
go beyond external definitions of nationhood,
stripping away artificial labels like nationality or race
to urge a contemplation of the essential innocence and goodness we must restore.
It is an attempt to awaken the universal truth
residing deep within human existence beyond all artificial divisions.
In contrast, the white lines are free-form graffiti,
visualizing a primal innocence
that remains unbound by any social standards or regulations.
