가장 따뜻해야 할 공간이 '폭력'과 '상처'의 근원지가 되었을 때,
자아는 생존을 위해 낯선 바다로 자신을 던진다.
이 연작은 뿌리의 흔들림으로부터 도망쳐,
이방인으로서 타국에서 마주한 차별과 지독한 고독을 담아낸 처절한 실존적 기록이다.
본 작업은 숨조차 쉬기 힘들었던 곳에서의 기억,
그리고 도피한 이국땅에서 마주한 여전히 이방인이라는 철저한 고립감에서 시작된다.
캔버스 위에 재현된 정교한 형상들은 그 막막한 바다 위에서 침몰할 것 같은 불안한 자아를 상징한다.

The Stranger's Trajectory
When the space that should be the warmest of all becomes the source of violence
and trauma, the self casts itself into an unfamiliar sea for the sake of survival.
This series is a desperate existential record, capturing the escape
from shattered roots and the confrontation
with discrimination and profound loneliness as a stranger in a foreign land.
The work begins with memories of a place where it was difficult even to breathe,
and the absolute sense of isolation as an eternal outsider,
even in the land to which I fled.
The meticulously rendered forms on the canvas symbolize the anxious self,
perpetually on the verge of sinking into that vast, desolate ocean.
