< 흐르는 시간과 머무는 형식들 >
무분별한 혐오가 흐르는 시대 속에서 개인은 종종 길을 잃는다.
누구에게나 시간은 동일하게 흐르지만,
매 순간의 선택에 따라 각자가 걷는 시간의 결은 전혀 다른 방향을 향한다.
이 작업은 방황하는 자아에서 출발해 어린 시절의 순수한 동심을 복원하고,
결국 선(善)의 의지로 귀결되는 과정을 추적한다.
무심하게 흐르는 시간 속에서도 마모되지 않고 우리 곁에 머무는 ‘형식’은
바로 선을 향한 선택이다.
선과 악의 경계에서 흔들리는 것은 인간의 숙명이지만,
그 발걸음을 어디로 옮길 것인지는 결국 우리의 몫이다.
In an era marked by indiscriminate hatred, individuals often lose their way.
Time flows equally for everyone, yet the texture of the time we traverse
shifts entirely depending on the choices we make in each moment.
This work traces a journey that begins with a wandering self,
restores the pure innocence of childhood,
and ultimately leads to the will of goodness.
Even within the indifferent flow of time, the “lingering form” that remains unworn
is the choice toward the good.
To waver on the boundary between good and evil is a human destiny,
but where we direct our steps remains our responsibility.
동심 (Childlike innocence)

타국에서 겪은 차별이라는 서늘한 경험은 역설적으로 가장 따뜻했던 기억을 소환한다.
국적과 인종을 망각한 채 어울려 놀던 구슬치기 시간은,
세상의 편견에 물들기 전 인간이 본래 선(善)에 가까운 존재였음을 상기시킨다.
작 품 속 인물들이 입은 흰색 의상은 어떤 가치에도 규정되지 않은
순수한 가능성과 무구한 상태를 상징한다.
또한 이들이 공유하는 투명한 구슬은 망각되었던 인류 보편의 사랑과 순수함에 대한 시각적 은유이다.
본 작업은 자아의 회복을 넘어, 우리 안에 잠재된 선의 의지를 복원하려는 시도이다.
The chilling experience of discrimination in a foreign land paradoxically summons the warmest of memories. The time spent playing marbles, oblivious to nationality or race, reminds us that before being tainted by the world’s prejudices, human beings were inherently closer to goodness.
The white attire worn by the characters symbolizes a state of pure possibility and untainted innocence, undefined by any external values.
The transparent marbles they share serve as a visual metaphor for the forgotten love and purity once shared by all.
Beyond the recovery of the self, this work is an attempt to restore the latent will toward goodness within us.

The transparent materiality of the marbles, realistically depicted,
projects a state of being untainted by the gaze of others or the prejudices of the world.
The colors of national flags swirling within the marbles
go beyond external definitions of nationhood,
stripping away artificial labels like nationality or race
to urge a contemplation of the essential innocence and goodness we must restore.
It is an attempt to awaken the universal truth
residing deep within human existence beyond all artificial divisions.
In contrast, the white lines are free-form graffiti,
visualizing a primal innocence
that remains unbound by any social standards or regulations.

to which we can no longer return.

Standing at its center, on a precarious boundary, Kizzy,
possessing both demonic horns and an angelic halo
and wings, is a persona representing the essential duality of human existence
and the artist’s own self, ever-swaying before the choices between good and evil.
However, this duality does not remain in chaos
but finds a clear orientation upon encountering the absolute truth of goodness (善).
The embrace of the daisy flowers densely surrounding Kizzy symbolizes a primordial love
and order that accepts existence without prejudice.
The process of a swaying self finally awakening to the necessity of pursuing essential goodness
and restoring original innocence within this pristine space guides viewers to an existential contemplation of universal truth beyond artificial divisions of race, nationality, good, and evil.
